The Symud Ymlaen / Moving Forward project provides young people who have offended and those leaving the care system greater access to employment and training. We will work with 200 young people across Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Merthyr, Neath Port Talbot, RCT, Swansea and Torfaen.
The project supports young people undertaking a six month paid work placement, with a range of employers across South Wales, with the aim that the employer will continue to employ the young person once their placement has ended. For young people needing extra support we provide bespoke training in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT, as well as generic employability skills.
Llamau is the lead organisation, working in partnership with CBSA (Wales) in delivering the project.
The funding for the project has been made available through the European Social Fund through Welsh Government.
